Wired Volume 02 into the Mat
Brian Glick's Only Way Out Volume 02 transcribed verbatim, plus the first 12 moves wired into the graph as edges across 6 positions and a new principle.
Volume 02 of Only Way Out is on the site, transcribed verbatim with BilibiliTimestamp components on every section anchor. More importantly: the Mat's position graph went from zero edges to twelve. The techniques in this volume are embodied enough to earn pages, so for the first time fromPosition and toPosition actually point somewhere — front headlock bottom, half-guard bottom, top position, back control, seated guard, front headlock top.
The twelve moves landed in three chains. Chain 1 — sit-through to half guard, knee lever (the locked-hands counter), and the trilemma that follows: scoop sweep, half-guard back take, knee-slide takedown. Chain 2 — two-on-one pass-off to the arm-drag series: back take, sumi gaeshi, hiza guruma, plus the snap-down reversal. Chain 3 — when the partner's hands won't unlock: thumb-post drag and sucker drag. One new principle came out of the volume too: defense before escape — defend the submission first, defend the go-behind second, only then escape. Every move in the volume runs through that ordering.
Tightened the frontmatter contract across 142 pages
Deleted `domain`, required `wing` + `genre`, renamed `growthStage` to `stability` and gated it to the genres where it means something. 142 files migrated by codemod in one pass.
Killed the CRT vocabulary, switched to Fraunces and warm paper
Sitewide pivot from the retro-terminal aesthetic to an editorial one. Dropped VT323, Anonymous Pro, scan lines, film grain, and boot flicker. Body type is now Fraunces at 18px on a hue-55 paper background.
