"What are you genuinely bad at?"

Not because I'm eager to confess weaknesses. Because the answer reveals more about a person than any strength question ever could. Most people can't answer it honestly. They give the strategic weakness, the "I work too hard" or "I care too much" response that's really a compliment dressed as a confession.

The honest answer, for me, is that I struggle with moderation. I'm all-or-nothing. I will build six products when asked for one. I will also skip the gym for a year because I can't do the perfect program. Both of those come from the same place, an intensity that doesn't have a middle setting.

But the reason I wish you'd asked is because the way someone handles that question tells you whether they've done the internal work. Someone who knows their real weakness, can name it clearly, can explain the mechanism, and can describe what they're doing about it, that person has a level of self-awareness that matters more than any technical skill. Technical skills can be taught. Self-awareness can't.
